Bruce Armstrong
President & Chief Executive Officer
Bruce brings over 25 years of experience developing, marketing, selling, and investing in technology to PivotLink, with an emphasis in data warehousing and analytic applications.
Prior to joining PivotLink, Bruce served as Chairman and CEO of venture-backed Kickfire, a pioneer in next-generation data warehouse appliances focused on the open source MySQL database market (acquired by industry leader Teradata in 2010).
Earlier, Bruce served as President and CEO of publicly-traded KNOVA Software, a leading provider of search and analytic applications for unstructured data. Prior to that, he was EVP of Sales & Marketing at Broadbase Software, where he helped create the analytic application category for CRM, and VP & GM of the Server Products Group at Sybase, where he ran the company's $700M enterprise database management business. Bruce started his career at Teradata Corporation, where - after seeing the company through a successful IPO and acquisition by AT&T/NCR - he was named VP & GM of the $500M Enterprise Solutions Division, President of Teradata, and a company officer of AT&T.
Bruce has a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.
Joe Dalton
Chief Product Officer
Joe oversees engineering, product management, corporate and product marketing. He brings over 25 years of senior marketing, sales and management experience to PivotLink, most recently as CMO at big data analytics company MarkLogic. Previously, Joe was founder and CEO of Perception Software, a next generation enterprise application for high tech manufacturers and also was founder and CEO of Knowledge Discovery One (KD1), a retail decision support application provider acquired by Net Perceptions. KD1 is widely credited with pioneering the application of advanced analytic concepts that allow business users to solve everyday retail business problems such product affinities, purchase recommendations, and customer clustering.
Joe has also held marketing and sales leadership roles at Mentor Graphics, Innoveda (acquired by Mentor Graphics) and Teradata.
Joe holds a B.A. in Economics and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, and an MBA from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
Thomas Muise
Chief Financial Officer
Tom brings more than 27 years of experience in finance and operations at both start-up and public companies to PivotLink, including significant roles in the database, SaaS, and software industries.
Prior to joining PivotLink, Tom served as CFO of Kickfire, a pioneer in next-generation data warehouse appliances (acquired by Teradata). Earlier, Tom served as CFO of Panterra Networks, a provider of SaaS unified communications services, and publicly traded Knova Software, a leading provider of search and analytic applications for unstructured data. Tom started his career at parallel-processing pioneer Tandem Computers where he spent 12 years in various financial roles including Senior Director of Finance for the database and transaction processing software business.
Tom earned his MBA with distinction from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
Jeff Schmidt
Chief Revenue Officer
Jeff oversees PivotLink’s Sales, Services and Field Marketing organizations as Chief Revenue Officer. He brings over 20 years of enterprise software sales experience in customer marketing analytics and SaaS.
Jeff most recently served as Vice President of Worldwide Sales at Coremetrics, an IBM company, where he drove record revenue growth and established the company’s leadership in marketing analytics through the 2010 acquisition by IBM. Jeff previously served as Vice President of Sales at WebEx, contributing to the company’s growth from $140 million to over $308 million. Jeff established the Asia Pacific operation as Vice President and General Manager of WebEx Asia Pacific and Japan, and spearheaded the WebEx Global Channel and Alliances program. Jeff also served as Vice President of sales at Blue Pumpkin Software, and as district manager for Octel Communications.
Jeff holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications, Sales and Marketing, from California State University, Northridge.
Ching Wan
Founder, Chief Data Scientist
Before founding PivotLink, Ching was a senior technical architect at Cambridge Technology Partners, specializing in data warehouse practices. Ching also worked at several startup companies in the Los Angeles area.
He led a number of pioneering software development projects, including an object-oriented database management system, a graphic spreadsheet application and warehouse management systems.
Ching earned a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science from China’s Tsinghua University.
